Opening Ceremony of Linqing Canal (Dongwan Garden)

On September 28, the opening ceremony of Linqing Canal Style Garden (Dongwan Garden) was held. Ma Weihong, vice mayor of Liaocheng City, Liu Peiguo, vice mayor of Liaocheng City and secretary of Linqing Municipal Committee, Zhou Jiangtao, secretary of the party group and director of Liaocheng City Culture and Tourism Bureau, Zhou Chao, Li Cunzhong, Sun Xiaoqiang, and Du Dongping, leaders of Linqing City, and WAN Qiusheng, chairman of Sanhe Group, as well as responsible comrades of the relevant departments attended the event.

Liu Peiguo speech at the opening ceremony, pointed out that the opening of the Canal Park is to the masses to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival, National Day “double” dedication of a gift, but also for the implementation of the strategy of cultural tourism to build a new platform.

With the theme of "Famous Canal City, Prosperous Scenery", Linqing Canal Style Park has created a number of famous buildings in the history of Linqing, such as Linqing Prefecture Office and Qixiu Building, and set up a number of cultural and recreational projects such as Peking Opera performances, gourmet food tastes, and folklore experiences, which reproduces the prosperity of the Ming and Qing Dynasties.

The project is in line with the national decision of protecting and utilizing the culture of the Grand Canal and the actual demand of the people to enjoy a rich spiritual and cultural life, which will surely attract more tourists to Linqing for sightseeing, leisure and entertainment, and investment and business.
